GIS Day: November 19, 2008
Student Poster Contest
The GIS Student Organization will hold a Student Poster Contest in conjunction with GIS Day activities on November 19, 2008, in the President's Room at Coffman Memorial Union.
Posters will be judged by a panel comprised of University of Minnesota faculty. Prizes will be awarded for the top three posters. Posters will be judged according to the following criteria:
- Poster presentation quality (aesthetics and organization)
- Use of GIS
- Demonstration of research value or usefulness
- Originality
- Validity/completeness of technical analysis or methodology
- Quality of answers to judges' questions
Register
Register for the contest by filling out the entry form (DOC) and emailing it to gisso@umn.edu. If you are unable to use the form, send an email with your name, department, poster title, abstract, and email address. Posters should fit on a 4x6 foot board.
Space is limited so please register as soon as possible. Posters must be set up between 10:00 and 11:00 am in the President's Room, and you must be present from 3:15 to 4:00 for the judging process. Prizes will be awarded at 4:00 pm.
